I was going to be funny! But this isn't

I was going to talk to you about the "Real desperate housewives of Atlanta", you know that tri-fecta plus of Bitches! Or the latest extremely stupid product the snuggie, which by the way now comes in the new stylish zebra or leopard pattern. I'm going to dispense with all that idiocy to talk about something real!

I became unemployed on Sept. 15th of this year, I like so many other in this economy became a victim! I already new how hard it is to find a job my girlfriend has been looking for the last year. She like many of us are over qualified or simply can't find a opening in any job that we are qualified for. I just watched on cspan the vote to extend unemployment benefits for another 14 weeks. I'm a registered Republican although I have always voted for the best person for the job no matter what their politics. What I witnessed today makes me hate all parties. The reason is simply everyday for the last 3 weeks the vote for some reason has been filibustered for what looks to be political reasons. I'm ashamed to be a Republican today because of what I am becoming aware of. We aren't talking about freeloaders exploiting government benefits these are people who for most of their life have been employed and fueling the economy. On the radio I championed many causes for the families of our military, anti DUI campaigns, Childrens Miracle Network, American Cancer and Heart association along with various charities. In every situation there were times I was so emotional it was very hard to keep my resolve. This issue is now effecting my family directly. I am literally a month away from becoming homeless. For the first time in my life, I have had to visit food banks and seek help to pay my power bills. I've just paid my bills and have no money for next month. I just received unemployment so I able to keep it coming for at least 6 months, I have already applied for over a hundred jobs, I have also sent out almost three hundred resumes and demos withonly minimal replies. Now keep in mind I'm one of the lucky ones, yeah compared to most I'm in good shape. Let me say that again, I'M ONE OF THE LUCKY ONES. EVEN THOUGH I WILL BE HOMELESS NEXT MONTH, EVEN THOUGH I'M SKILLED IN A WIDE VARIETIES OF CAREERS, EVEN THOUGH I HAVE A DEGREE, EVEN THOUGH I'VE NEVER BEEN FIRED DUE TO MY QUALITY OR QUANITY OF WORK, EVEN THOUGH I'M A TEAM PLAYER, EVEN THOUGH I WAS WILLING TO TAKE A WAGE DECREASE. I am probably guilty of some of the same things I now complain about the fact that the media covers what ever is hot that week! Let's all start to take a better look and become more informed on what goes on around us every day!

This is probably the first blog I have written with this type of subject. I'M SIMPLY AM ASHAMED OF MYSELF AND OTHERS WHO DON'T CARE ABOUT OUR FRIENDS, OUR FAMILIES, AND OUR NEIGHBORS! WHEN ONE OF US HURTS WE ALL DO!

Let remember that this is America and we are all Americans not Blank Blank Americans simply Americans. We live in the best country in the workd and we all need to get envolved to restore and keep it that way!
